IT'S A BOY!!

This is "Red", formerly known as Zeus or inmate A316081.  He came to us today all the way from the San Antonio, Texas Animal Care Services courtesy of Lucille's Voice Animal Education & Emergency Rescue Center.  It just so happens that I share an office with the Executive Director of Lucille's Voice because her day job is with the VA.  Red is a very playful 3-5 year old strawberry blonde shepherd mix and up until yesterday he was in danger of being put down in San Antonio because they were running out of space and simply had too many dogs.  So during one of their regular rescue trips this weekend my friend heard about him and, knowing we were looking for a playmate for Brownie, she sent me his picture and information.  He's a little excited at being in a new home and running in circles around the house at the moment freaking Brownie out.  His introduction to Monkey went very well, he's housebroken, we've figured out he has at least been trained to sit and lay down, and Ma likes that he has one floppy ear.  As I've been taking photos and typing this post on my phone he and Brownie have started to warm up more to each other and play a little.  I think this new boy (I'm not the only male in the house anymore!) will work out just fine.  Thank you so much to the folks at San Antonio ACS and Lucille's Voice for the terrific work you do and allowing us play a small part in it.
