Three Monkeys in the bed and the little one said....

Vroom Vroom

She ain't pretty, but she weighs a ton (about a pound actually) and has reinforced axels to make sure they don't break. Ready for the no-holds-barred, anything goes Pinewood Derby at church this Saturday.

Baseball!

Pa had MLB Plays of the Week on when getting ready for church.  Out of nowhere Monkey started yelling "GO GO GO!!!" and jumping around and waving her arms during all the highlights.  Apparently she really likes baseball.

I'm so fancy...

It's exhausting!

Earth Day

Monkey & Pa helped with our church project to clean up the trails at a local nature center.

After only an hour on the trails a Monkey was exhausted.

Sisters

Our little Monkey with her baby sister, Froggy.  And apparently Moneky has decided Ma & Pa are both dinosaurs.  That's what she said when we asked what our animals were.

Happy Baby

Happy Froggy at her two week checkup.  She's up four ounces over her birth weight and all smiles.

HELP!!!

"I NEED IT UNLOCKED! I NEED IT UNLOCKED!" (Notice there is no fence on either side of the gate at the moment. She just refused to go around.)

Little By Little

The fence project has necessitated the organizing of garage space like hanging tools and such on the walls and parking the car outside for a while.

And no grass led to the conversion of the mower into a "lawn tractor" (i.e. removed the blade deck).

And to save my back, the addition of a towable utility wagon.

All in all things are looking pretty good.

Except that I had my first auger incident today and my left hand is pretty swollen  to pay for it.  At least it wasn't my right (knock on wood).

Fence Update

It's not the best 40 feet of fence ever built but it's the first I've built and there's 600 more feet of practicing before I'm done.

Working Girl

Practicing to take over Ma's job.

Get Out & Do Something

There are few things in life that benefit a man or woman's mental, emotional, and physical health all at once as much as manual labor and crafting or repairing something with your own two hands.

A conversation overheard during the creation

T"We're gonna need to multiply and replenish the earth"
how can we do that?
"Uhmm seeds? Like flowers? Or eggs? Like chickens?"
Nah, done that.
"Uhm cloning?"
Too sciency.
"Well... I had this idea about this thing called a mammal. But it's messy, and will really hurt..."

Alright so we got the multiplying thing down, how are we gonna feed the offspring?
"Photosynthesis?"
Sciency.
"Uhm, a fully developed digestive system when they're born?"
Waaaay too much work.
"Well, the mammals come with nipples, I thought they were just weird spare parts buuuut..."
Perfect!! Let's make that hurt too!

*millenia later*
well that could have gone better
"horrified stare"
Remind me again why the males have nipples too?

"I'm A Puppy"

"Woof Woof!!!"

Welcome To The Jungle

Achievement Unlocked

During hour 45 of her life, after a diaper change and while enjoying her 8AM feeding, Froggy listened to her first vinyl record with Pa while everyone else was still asleep.  It was the 1979 album "JD" by John Denver and appeared to be enjoyed by Baby & Dad alike, much to Ma's dismay.

1:15 AM

So this is what 1:15 AM looks like in our house right now...
